On completion of this 3.5-hour training, candidates will have demonstrated their competence to:
- Assess the situation in an emergency.
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure.
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock.
- Recognise anaphylaxis symptoms; the risk factors; and how to respond to someone in anaphylatic shock.
The course should also include any updates or changes to relevant first-aid procedures.
This training is not recognised by the HSE but is a useful course for people who do not need to be the official first aider in the workplace.
